Kershwin and his wife Thej have been living in Avon for over 20 years. They have 3 daughters Arya, Miya and Suri, and have 2 fur babies Asher and Maple. Kershwin is originally from South Africa and was fortunate to emigrate to the United States 25 years ago.  

Kershwin is a lawyer by training and received law degrees in South Africa and at UCONN. While working as a lawyer in Hartford, Ridgefield, Manhattan and now just outside Boston he has managed to continue living in Avon as he feels it is an amazing town to raise kids and cherishes the friendships he has made.

Kershwin has been on the Board of Assessment Appeals since 2021 and is now running for the Zoning Board of Appeals. He has been active in the Avon community volunteering at the schools his daughters have attended and has also coached softball, soccer and volleyball in town. Kershwin has previously been part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization, Rotary Club of Avon-Canton and together with his family has fostered 18 puppies over the last 7 years.

Having travelled extensively, Kershwin still believes that Avon is one of the best places in the world to live. Kershwin is looking forward to serving Avon with a goal of making the town a better place for all.
