Elect Erin Dawson

Erin Dawson has been an Avon resident since 2018.  She is a devoted wife and mother of two young children who attend Avon Public Schools.  Erin has an established track record of creating and executing positive programing in our schools and community.

For two years in a row, Erin Dawson, along with Erin Barthel, was awarded a grant from the Avon Greater Together Community Fund to provide a series of educational children’s programs for grades K-3 that celebrate cultural diversity.

Erin has been serving on the board of the Friends of Avon Public Library for the past two years as the Children’s Liaison. She works directly with the library staff on programing and funding to help ensure that our library remains a central part of our community.

She is active in the Avon community volunteering for Pine Grove School PTO in various roles including room mom as well as initiating and organizing a school wide assembly featuring a well-known jazz percussionist. She is also a co-leader of a local Avon Girl Scout Troop. 

Erin is a member of the Democratic Town Committee and has represented Avon as a Delegate at the State Democratic Caucus. She currently is the appointed Avon representative to the Central Regional Tourism District.

She is an active member of Moms Demand Action advocating for gun safety legislation at the state and national level. She attended the Safer Communities Summit attended by then sitting President Joe Biden.

Erin is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, holds a Master’s degree from the University of Missouri and as well as a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Erin had a two decades-long career as a Fashion Designer before relocating to Avon. 

In her spare time, Erin enjoys gardening and oil painting.
